Day 26: Think back to how you were 5 years ago. How have you changed since then?
Well... I had just come back from living/working in Disney... so I was happier. Haha. (jk!) But I was less worried about my life. I decided to take a year off from school to work, and at the time I didn't have a job yet, so I was so much more relaxed. I think I'm more cynical now too. I always use to expect good things to happen and now I just expect the worst of every situation. 5 years ago I was researching colleges to go to and thinking about my choices. Now I graduated and just pissed off that I spent all that money trying to be a better person and I can't even get a decent job.
Life sucks monkey ass.

The Second Challenge: Day 24
Day 24: What's in your purse?
That's a good question. I shall now just go through it and list the items as I see them.
A pink Nintendo DS with Tetris inside. Sunglasses. My keys that also have store cards and a sharpie on them. Nintendo mini wallet with ID's, bank card, and cash inside. Cell phone and cell phone holder. Orbit wintermint. A Disney pen on a string for your neck. Splenda I steal for my mom. Chapstick. Toothpicks. A mint from a tuna/crackers lunch kit. Pink hair ribbon. Large zebra print wallet that has my checkbook, store cards, subway passes, library card, movie stubs, and insurance cards. A Japanese doll coin purse with a ton of change and a paper clip inside. A 2011 planning calendar. Ipod. Ipod headphones in a sunglass bag. Fugifilm camera. Mini notebook. Spare phone charger. Paycheck stub. Purple liquid pen. Mini pen for mini notebook. A pen that smells like cupcakes. Box cutter. Four DS games in a case. Hooters hand wipe. A shit load of Coke caps I just entered for points.... like damn! Hand lotion, unscented. Victoria Secret mascara and lip gloss. CG lip color. Another chapstick. A hair broach. Evil eye bead bracelet. Another Hooters hand wipe.
Now, that's only if I have my small purse. (Haha. That seems insane with that list, I know.) I have a large purse that I use if I'm going on a trip or over someones house for the night. The items in THAT purse are...
Wet ones. Toilet paper on the go. Sunblock. Art book and my drawing pencils. A yo-yo. Two decks of cards. Pain reliever. First Aid kit that included--band aids, swabs, neoporin, benadryl cream. Hair ties. A book.
Wow.... I'm kind of ridiculous. Haha.

30 Days of Music: Day 4
Day 4: A song that makes you sad.
Tuesday, April 26, 2011
The Second Challenge: Day 23
Day 23: 20 facts about you.
1. I hate/am afraid of all bugs. Even butterflies. I hate ones that fly most of all, cause they somehow always fly right at my face.
2. I would rather have an iTunes gift card or an awesome steakhouse burger as a gift for Valentines day than jewelry or flowers.... or birthday... or anything really. Haha.
3. I recently decided that, since I'm not a big jewelry person, I would rather not have an engagement ring. I don't think a guy should have to present a diamond in order to get an answer anyway.
4. When I hear songs I love on the radio, it makes me sad. I know it's great for the artist and I'm happy that they are getting recognition, but I can't help being scared that it's all I'll hear and then I'll get sick of it.
5. I love the 80's.
6. I hate Starbucks coffee. I love Dunkin Donuts coffee.
7. It's really hard to me to talk about myself. I've been trying to type this blog for about 3 hours now. I can never think about what to say.
8. I have a list for everything.
9. I have given up sugar. I haven't had chocolate in a long time. There is a chocolate bunny in the freezer. It's killing me.
10. I can point my leg/toes straight in the air, like a ballerina.
11. I'm doing a cleanse of my bedroom. I'm trowing stuff out and donating the rest. It's taken two days so far and it continues tomorrow.
12. I'm going camping this summer with my family and I'm super excited.
13. I wish they made special light blockers for clocks and such. I hate when things have lights and I'm trying to sleep.
14. Right now, I have a huge headache.
15. I love to label things.
16. I don't know where my high school diploma is.
17. I throw a yo-yo so hard it bruises my hand.
18. Today, while I cleaned, I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.... twice.
19. I love eating popcorn but I hate the way it tastes.
20. I'm sleepy.

30 Days of Music: Day 2
Day 2: Your least favorite song.
This was really hard because I don't even think about songs I hate. If I hate it I simply don't listen to it. I mean, I can't even count the Rebecca Black song because I've never heard it. So I thought long and hard about it, and I remembered a song/music video that gave me a huge headache. I actually spent a good amount of time on Google trying to figure out what it was.
I hate the strobe effect. I hate the noise in the beat. I hate the lyrics. Here you go.......

30 Days of Music: Day 1
I'm now doing a "30 Days of Music" blog challenge, just because I love music.
Day 1: Your favorite song.
I have many favorites, but one has been at the top of the list since middle school.
Day 1: Your favorite song.
I have many favorites, but one has been at the top of the list since middle school.
The Second Challenge: Day 20
Day 20: The meaning behind your blog name.
What is my blog name anyway? Haha. Let me look....
Oh yea... "Jenki" is a nic-name I acquired in high school.
If you go back to 1985 you will notice that "Jennifer" was the second or third most popular name that year for girls. It was number 1 in 1984 and number 4 in 1986. So, if you can imagine, there were a lot of Jennifer's in my school. There were about 4 or 5 of us in my immediate circle of friends, so we got our conversations mixed up a lot. We started going by nic-names. Since my middle name is "Nicole" my friends wanted to go off that, but there was another "Jennifer Nicole" also, so I became "Jennifer Nikki" which was eventually shortened to "Jenki."
After I left high school, I kept it for user-name reasons, but no one calls me that in real life anymore. I'm just "Jen" now.

The Second Challenge: Day 16
Day 16: A photo of you and your family.
I actually don't have one picture of me with my entire family. That would be a very large and insanely crowded picture. But I have a few pictures below, with some of my favorite people.
First, a picture of me with my mom. This was last year at the beach. I love my mom. She is my best friend and I can never spend enough time with her. I appreciate all she does for me.

This is a picture of me with my dad. It's a really old picture because he doesn't take many. This was before I went to senior prom. You can't really tell, but I look a lot like him. I get me sense of humor from him and my music tastes too. I love my daddy!!!!
This is me with my little sister. Got her when my dad remarried. She gets on my nerves and sometimes I want to push her down the stairs... but I love her. Haha. I love how alike we look and how she acts like me sometimes. And she always makes me laugh, even without trying.

This girl is actually my cousin, but she is my absolute best friend and has been since we were little babies. We always have so much fun together and we talk about everything. I do mean everything. We fight and get over it all in one hour because we need to talk. She is my future maid of honor and babies God-mother. <3 This is my sister right here!

This is my wifey, Susanne! Well... not really my wife, but that's what we act like. She is also my best friend. We are like the Mafia.... "Family, no relation." We lived together for a few years and we know each other so well. We are always there for each other and I love her so much!

The Second Challenge: Day 13
Day 13: Your favorite musician and why.
I have lots of favorite bands and musicians, but most of them are from the 80's. I don't usually like current music. Probably because of the club beats they always have. Probably because they don't sing about love anymore, or just about friends and having a good time. It's always got to be about all the girls they have and all the money they spend. It gets really old.
I have chosen some songs that reflect my music taste. I can't pink just one band or one musician, because I love so many of them. Different songs go with different days and different moods. You can't just pick one.

The Second Challenge: Day 11
Day 11: What's in your make up bag?
A green ribbon. Native American pin. Covergirl lip stain. Two Victoria Secret lip glosses. Two soft lips balm. Bobby pins. Two eyeshadow brushes. One blue eyeshadow stick. Eye drops. Floss. Two mascaras. Two liquid eyeliner. Pencil eyeliner. Oil blotting sheets. Emory board. And the bag it all came in.
I guess you can notice I only focus on my eyes and lips. This is the stuff I have started carrying around out of habit, just in case I need it.

The Second Challenge: Day 7
Day 7: Your dream wedding.
Haha. This should be interesting. I am one of those girls that have been thinking about their wedding since I was a little girl, but not to the degree of most girls. I'm not a princess kind of bride at all. I hate veils. I won't even wear heels. I'm only going to have one bridesmaid, and I just want to have an amazing night. I found this inspiration board that has a lot of the things I like.
Just for a few key words of the stuff I'm thinking: Blue & Yellow. Flowers. Sliders. Ribbons. Food. Fun. Family. Cake. Mason jars. Haha.

The Second Challenge: Day 4
Day 4: Your favorite photograph of your best friend.
I have two best friends, and I couldn't pick just one of them! So I did them both.
The photo above is of me and my bestest friend Megan at Disney World, May 2006. I was working there and my mom was to come down for a vacation on my last day of work. That way I could enjoy a vacation before I flew home. Megan surprised me and came down too! I had no idea. We had so much fun down there and I hope we get to go again. I have known Megan my entire life. We are actually cousins, but ever since we were babies we have been BFF's. We have spent almost every weekend at each others houses and always have fun together. I love this girl so much!

The picture above this is my best friend Susanne! And this picture defines her perfectly. This was taken at Universal Studios. We have a shared love of dinosaurs and she can do the best raptor sound I've ever heard, apart from the movie. Haha. I met this girl when I moved away to college. We were placed together as roommates, with two others. (That's a whole separate story that I won't go into.) We eventually became great friends, moved out of there and into a better apartment, just us too. Oh, and her cats and my fish. That's where we became bestest friends! This is the girl I text the most, more than everyone else I know combined. I can't wait to go on more road trips with her, and move into yet another apartment with her. I joke that we are like the Mafia.... "Family, no relation."

The Second Challenge: Day 3
Day 3: Your favorite store
I have three... as of right now. So I'll post them all.

I get all my basic clothes from Old Navy. Well... mostly. I do shop at other stores, but I can safely say that 90% of my clothes are from Old Navy. I get lots of fun accessories from Hot Topic, and whenever I'm at the mall I have to take a gander in there. Some things I have gotten from there are my Nintendo wallet, my Pikachu purse, and my bow clips. Laila Rowe is the store I love going into for some girly, but still edgy things. I get a lot of hair accessories and some necklaces in there. I also bought my rain boots and my bubble umbrella.

The Second Challenge: Day 1
Day 1: A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.
My day today SUCKED big time. I have had a stomach virus all weekend, and today I thought it was going away.... but it didn't. It was just waiting for me to eat something heavy so it could kick my ass. Hard. Then, I went to work and got told, by my manager, that I'm "too nice and too friendly" and if it keeps happening I'll get written up. So, I walked around work all night without saying a word to anyone because I'm not allowed to be myself. Then, I was so upset by the night, I ruined my diet and got some McDonalds, which is now hurting my stomach and making me feel gross. It just wasn't my day.
Sad face.

I'm a girl... but not really?
So... my friend and I were talking last night. She decided to tell me that I'm like a guy with a big rack. (Thanks, bitch!) As we were talking, we came up with a list of qualities and characteristics about me that make me a girl... just not really. You'll see what she meant.
1. I haven't brushed my hair in the last 48 hours. (My hair is naturally knot free, but she insists that I'm just a freak of a girl.)
2. "Dutch ovens" don't piss me off, but revenge will be had.
3. I wear makeup maybe... twice a month... and I haven't worn foundation/concealer since prom.
4. I would much rather watch "The Shawshank Redemption" than "The Notebook."
5. Some of my top favorite movies include ones with Arnold!!!!!!! ("IT'S NOT A TUMOR!)
6. I will eat like a pig on the first date. (Girls eat salads, apparently.)
7. I'm horny like a guy? Is that even real?
8. To me, a romantic date would include something that could potentially get my clothes muddy. (I don't know what kind of date this would be... but okay.)
9. I refuse to wear heels.
10. I am not embarrassed to talk about poop.
She has other reasons, but these were the ones that caused her the most frustration.
In other news, I'm doing another 30 Day Blog Challenge! I'll post it after I post this, and it will begin tomorrow. It's one that someone sent to me, so I said I would go for it. Also, new "Place to Travel" coming soon.

8. To me, a romantic date would include something that could potentially get my clothes muddy. (I don't know what kind of date this would be... but okay.)
9. I refuse to wear heels.
10. I am not embarrassed to talk about poop.
