My Future House: Part 4

This one is all about an art studio. I love to paint, draw with all kinds of media, work with clay, and do all kinds of stuff. I want one big art studio that I can go to just to work on this stuff. It's really hard to do any type of art when you do not have good space, both referring to the amount of space and the things surrounding you.

The most important thing I would want is big windows. Something that will allow me to get amazing natural light, a steady breeze, and great visual stimulation. I need whatever I'm working on to face the windows too. Looking outside, into the sky or the landscape, allows my mind to wander and daydream. This is where my inspiration comes from. I would also have a little speaker system set up next to me for my ipod, since I have different playlists for different mindsets. (I should do a post of all my different playlists. Haha.)

Of course, organization is a big thing. I want my studio to have all the things I love in it, so trying to keep everything separated and orderly would be a challenge, but I don't think I'd have a problem with it. I love the picture above, that looks like a giant beehive. I think I could do that with pencils, paints, and things that won't be horrible if it falls over. But things like charcoal or crafty pieces would need to be in labeled boxes. (I say this cause I love keeping art stuff organized. My room is a different story.)

I love the picture above. The big open, empty space looks perfect for a studio. I could get a ladder and hang paintings above everything. There is also good space for all the sections I would want, as stated earlier. One area would have my easel, music, and a chair and little table in the corner of the windows. One area would have all my painting things, another with all my drawing and sketching things. I would need a couch or comfy chair, obviously, since I would spend all my time in there! Another section for crafty things. (These would be wood crafts, stenciling, and stuff like that.) I'd need to get a pottery wheel! I took a pottery class and absolutely loved it! It was challenging while being fun at the same time, which I loved. I would want a good place to store my photography things, and to work on framing and stuff. I don't know if I would want a section for scrap-booking, but I think I would if I had some space.

I know this is what my studio would end up looking like. HA! (See above.) The shelves, while organized for me, looks disorderly and like a giant heap of growling madness. Inspiration all over the room! I especially love the... mummy?... in the corner there. Haha. I could even make little shoe-box dioramas for each major thing I'm working on. Then I could keep them on shelves up high and look to them for ideas and inspiration when I needed to.

Okay.. I think I need to stop talking about this. Clearly, it's something I think about a lot. I think this may be the longest posting I've ever done.

The Inspiration Files

How gorgeous is this photo? I want to just sit on that bench and write. or draw, or sit in my own mind and think of all the things that could happen in such a magical place. I could write the most incredible 'RomCom' if I could sit in this ... what do you call this anyway? A enchanting tunnel of pollen magic? Haha. Tunnel of cascading flowers maybe? All I know is, I want to be there.

Places to Visit: Australia

Ah, Australia. Let's just start with the beaches, shall we? Now, I'm not the biggest fan of laying on beaches, but when you have water that blue and clear, and skies that bright and warm, and miles of empty sand to build sandcastles in... well... I'm game. I mean sure, they have a species of octopus that is super small and super poisonous. I'll wear those dorky water shoes that make my feet blush from embarrassment. Also a great place to test out some scuba skills... if I had any. But if I were going there I get some dammit! I would love to swim with sharks, and maybe even whales.
Also, Australia has over 500 national parks! Do you know how many animals and fucking TREES are there?!?! So many to climb! I can be like a wild monkey and swim from those glorious vines of safety net. HA!
Of course, as the picture shows, the famous Opera House. Surfer's Paradise. Dreamworld. Sea World. Warner Bros Movie World..... ZOMG my brain just exploded into clouds of ecstasy....

*Jennifer has fallen on the floor and is trapped in "La-La" land. She will have to call you back.*

Places to Visit: Alaska

I would love to go on an cruise to Alaska! I mean... gosh. Have you ever just Googled pictures of Alaska? I would love to take a drive through that visual orgasm. Not to mention the Northern Lights. I read somewhere that Alaska has a hotel made entirely of ice, with a ceiling you can see the sky through just to watch the Northern Lights. The most beautiful display of nature, in the sky! I can't stand how awesome that is. Also.. the animals! Oh my gosh. I would die of too much awesome if I could see a Blue Whale jump out of the water, or a fucking narwhal! I don't even care that is basically so cold it freezes your brain cells. I'll wear layers.

My Future House: Part 3

As a continuation of my "Future House" blog, I give you the third. Since the holidays are now upon us I thought it was only fitting to post some holiday inspired images.

I love this table. I love that it can fit so many people and they can all see each other! Long tables tend to lost that effect. I also love those two windows in the back. They have deep ledges, which are perfect to place food on. I am, of course, thinking of Thanksgiving. I would love to host Thanksgiving in my home, just one year. I have this whole menu thing planned too. But I think that's a different blog.

This bay window is gorgeous. I have always wanted huge windows that face some random beautiful piece of land I can look out on and enjoy some cake and hot tea. I have also dreamed of having a giant Christmas tree to put in front of one of those. Just so the entire world could see the awesomeness of my holiday spirit. Speaking of which...

DOESN'T THIS MAKE YOUR HEART FULL OF SPIRIT! The huge, bright Christmas tree. The fireplace with the stockings hanging from it. The candles. The dog! This is all I want.

Places to Visit: Greece

I decided to start a new set of blogs and list all the places I want to visit. I have a passport and it's been used once! That's just wrong. Being poor still does suck, but I can always dream. I think one thing I would always look for in a possible husband is the love of adventure, and the need to visit many different places. Of course, this would have to mean a tolerance for other cultures and sometimes uncomfortable situations. But I really don't care. :)

Place #1: Greece

Reason #1: Look at that view! I love how the place just seems to sit on a hill, and you can see that gorgeous blue water all around. I would give anything to be able to wake up in the morning with that view in my window. It would take all my will power not to skip to the nearest dock and jump right off. I'm pretty sure all these views would be in Santorini, so that is where I must go.

Reason #2: The food! Have you seen some of the foods they eat? It's fresh and natural. It's a lot! True, I wouldn't be able to hang with all the drinking, but I would sure try. I'm sure the overload of delicious food would soak it right up anyway. Haha. I do have to admit, I'm one of the most pickiest eaters in the world, but if I had the chance to eat anything there, I would.

Reason #3: The Acropolis. I mean... seriously! The history dork in me is going *squee* just thinking about walking through it. As a HUGE fan of Greek mythology, that city is at the top of my list. Home of the Parthenon... need I say more?

Reason #4: The hot men. No explanation required.

My Future House: Part 2

I had said before I would do another one of these, so I'm doing it now. Again, these are just some things that I would want for my dream house, if I were building one right now. I'll have to go through and find ones I haven't done for my next post of this type. But for now, these three will do:

I think this is amazing. It's like a little pool in the floor of a greenhouse type structure. It looks like the most amazing place to take a swim. And it might even be fun for boats, of the small nature of course. I love the colors reflected in the water from the glass ceiling. I would spend all my days in there.

This bathroom is perfect, except the color of it. I like darker color bathrooms best, but the layout of this one is perfect. I love that huge shower in the back, great space for dancing. And the tub is the best size for a bubble bath. If it just had the toilet in its own little room, I'd buy it right now.

I love this bed space. I would image there are stairs right where the camera is, and it goes down to the actual room. But the idea of having the bed in this little space is just so cozy to me. I love the windows above it too. It could make it just like camping. You can watch the stars and thunderstorms as you sleep. Pure bliss.

Childhood Shows

So I was just talking to my friend about shows we watched when we were kids, and started watching all the theme songs/intros on Youtube. I thought I would list all my favorites here, and maybe put some links to the theme songs for fun. NOTE: I did not watch all these all the time. As I grew up, the shows I watched every week changed, but I still love them now. I didn't live in front of the TV. Most of these shows were on Saturday mornings and after school anyway. Enjoy!

The Magic School bus
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGiW-jLYM6U

Duck Tales (Pretty much my #1)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMU2NwaaXEA

Pokemon (Yes, I watched it after school. What of it?!?!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ux8mJUexBcM

Chip n' Dale-Rescue Rangers (My other #1)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2e5q6ubDlZE

Bill Nye: The Science Guy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49nesMuk6pE
This is one show I probably shouldn't have been allowed to watch, because I made it my mission to do every experiment I saw on it. Haha. Curse you Bill!

Reading Rainbow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6j8EiWIVZs
If I had the book that they were reading I would always read along. :)

Inspector Gadget
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-JHfXVlkik

Power Rangers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hftYf30K7SU
(This was not the original, but I picked it cause I <3>

Tiny Toons
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzgtPJkI0ZM

Darkwing Duck
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=375ENQbru8s

Ledgends of the Hidden Temple (There is no intro for this show, so its just an episode)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZB28HCFzceY

Double Dare (Same for this show, so its the last course, which was the best part anyway)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKq8e66axL8

Are you afraid of the dark?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jitg-3xbmKU
(This was more when I got a little older, but it was still awesome.)

Hey Arnold!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWA2p11gEIk

Nickelodeon GUTS (No intro for this either, but I found a short tribute.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgrKShmSl0c

Sailor Moon (Still watch this, just in Japanese now! And no, not ashamed.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6_RZhh44NY
I started watching it in Japanese because its more adult than the English one, but it's still just as awesome and silly.

Salute your Shorts
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPncP1VPSss

Where on earth is Carmen Sandiego?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzqqRYxtu9g

Boy Meets World (Another show I still watch when it's on.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOpgKz9y9fA
They just don't make them like this anymore. This one is on the line of childhood and teenager, but I stated watching it as a kid, so I count it.

If any of the above links don't work for some reason, just search the title of the show. It's not that hard. Hope you enjoyed all the flashbacks. I might do another post like this, but with shows from High School. Those were a whole different class. Haha.

My future house

I am constantly seeing pictures of amazing architecture and room-scapes that make me want to live in them! I thought I would post a few here. It's hard to chose just a few favorites because there are so many. But I'm forcing my self, pretending that I'm building a house today! Ha. I wish.

First, this house. I believe it was in the movie "Practical Magic" but I absolutely love this house! I want it! It looks like a house from a story book. I love the white fence and the wrap around porch. I love the tower and the little balcony on the second floor. <3

This I want for reading! And napping of course, but mostly reading. I want a huge bookcase on that back wall so I can lounge in that amazing looking floating cloud and be at peace. And its so bright! Perfect light for reading a great novel. Preferably written by my best friend!

Are these stairs amazing? Or are the amazing?!?! True, wrap around stairs cause problems moving, but I couldn't give two shits! They are gorgeous. I love the paintings on the wall too. I've always wanted big paintings in my house. I think if I had stairs like THIS I could have paintings like that.

I think that's all for now, but I might post more another day. I just love looking at houses and design photos.

24. The first testicular guard, "The Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize their brains are important too.

Disney Zombie Princesses!

As promised...
I'll just chose my two favorites since I picked two of the Princes.

Jane from Tarzan. I think this one is wicked. She looks so savage and ... awesome!

I was never a fan of Snow White, but this is just plain cool. Her little dwarf minions. Poison apple. Like I said.. cool.

Hot Disney Men?

So, I saw this post with a bunch of pictures of well known Disney men. It's odd to think of them as hot, but who ever drew these images of them is an awesome person. [And, I suspect, a girl] They are just hotness! I feel weird liking them as much as I do since they are still cartoon characters. But, it's whatevs. Here are just a few of my favorites.

Of course, I automatically think Prince Eric is a hottie. I mean, it is my favorite movie after all.

And then the Beast. But really now... who didn't think the Beast was hot. I mean, he really was. Haha.

There are a bunch of them, but I don't really want to put them all here. I think I'll do another post with the zombie princesses. Those are really cool.

Why I hate Twilight

I don't approve of abusive relationships. It's that simple. I'll elaborate though.

He took the engine out of her car! So she couldn't go see the other guy. Wow. That's some good trust you got between you.

Ed is constantly telling Bella "no" to things she wants. She agrees to all his shit, but when she has something to say or something she wants, it is a "no." Like she doesn't know what she's saying... that silly girl. *pat pat*

He threw her into a table full of glass! Because she had a paper cut! Well NOW she's bleeding, asshole.

He sneaks into her room and watches her sleep? In what world did we decide that's okay? "How long have you been watching me sleep?" ---- "Oh, just a few months." How is this romantic at all?

I can't count the number of times he has hurt her, but she rationalizes it with "it's okay cause he loves me." How is this a good lesson for girls?

I can't remember all the times that Eddie boy tells the poor girl he doesn't love her anymore, then pulls a "syke!" Are we teaching girls that when boys say they hate you, they actually love you? Cause... that's just wrong.

So... the other guy is all like "I love you" and she's like "That's nice, but no." So he pretty much mouth rapes her. Then later is all like.... "Oh, I knew you would realize your love." So this is telling all boys that if a girl tells you "no," just mouth rape her and it's all good.

Even if I could get past all this abusive non-triangle of love going on, I still can't get past the fact that these are not real vampires! I mean, they have more in common with butterflies! (No, really. They do. Look it up.) Vampires in this world sparkle, and don't even have fangs? (As my friend tells me, who reads the books.) WTF?!?!

Ugh. End rant.

Cultivate Inspiration

Six ways to keep inspiration alive!!! These are just some of the things I do to keep my mind working.

1. Revisit your childhood and the things you use to enjoy doing.
Nothing gets creative juices flowing like revisiting your childhood. Did you ever save any of your old coloring books, drawings, favorite books, comic books, or movies? What were your hobbies when you were ten? Blanket forts, drawing, making sand castles or mud pies? Going to the zoo? Think of such activities as feeding your inner child — or for many of us — muse.

2. Procrastinate.
Don‘t you wish someone had told you this in college? For us Right-Brainers, procrastination can be a veritable goldmine. While Project A may be at the top of the list and have the closest deadline, procrastination tends to yield unique and interesting strong ideas (if not results) for Projects C, D, and E and so on (B is probably a little too close to A for consideration here).

3. Be a mad scientist.
Or rather, take a “mad scientist” approach to everything you do. Decorate madly – surround yourself with nutty, silly objects – funky furniture, abstract art, etc. Cook crazy dishes. Paint your dog‘s toenails. Be spontaneous and fun in your life and it will show in your work.

4. Put in a CD you haven't listened to in many years.
Akin to revisiting your childhood, take an audio trip down memory lane by listening to music you used to enjoy during a different era of your life. What did you listen to when you were 18? Whether you find those tastes laughable now or it‘s stuff you still enjoy, we reach our most robust mental processing stages at this age, so the artistic and recreational choices you made then tend to have long-lasting cerebral effects. Throw in that CD (or tape, or — yikes! — record) and see where your mind takes you.

5. Take care of yourself.
A nutritionist might disagree that your favorite macaroni and cheese dish or a pepperoni and sausage pizza is good for you, but it‘ll work wonders for your soul. Treat yourself occasionally to your favorite comfort food and allow yourself plenty of time to sleep and your imagination will emerge fully recharged.

6. Keep that sketchbook [or notebook] handy.
Inspiration can be found anywhere and everywhere in your surroundings, often when you least expect it. If you don‘t scribble down or doodle up that spontaneous idea when it hits you, it gets lost forever.

Pets

I love having pets, and I would love to have any kind of animal. I like snakes and hamsters and frogs... all that jazz. But there are just three that I would love to have. I think because I have to most experience in caring for them, so I could have the most fun with them.

1. Border Collies

This is probably because I had my Gizmo and I miss him so much, but he really was the best dog ever. Borders are so easy to train because they are smart and love activities. Plus, they are not too big. I don't like small dogs but I still want a dog that I can cuddle and not be crushed. So, for me, Borders are perfect!

2. Tropical Fish

I would really love to have a big aquarium full of tropical fish. I think because they are the easiest types of fish to have and they are the most colorful and I know how to handle them. It would be so much fun decorating. I'd do it with ancient ruins and a bubble wall.

3. Cockatiel

I
really miss working with these little bastards at work. I remember I had them all trained to stop biting so damn much and step up on your finger. For only seeing them a few days a week I think that's awesome. But, I do miss them sitting on my shoulder as I worked in the back and cleaned their cages. I would just love the chance to have one in the house. Maybe a quiet one though.

Inspiration

Here is the inspiration for a new story I'm working on... and it's probably not the type of story you would think it should be.

It relates to a quote that my roommate said. It shall be funny and crazy. The world will love it.

Just updated my iPod and I thought that my "Top 25 Played" playlist was funny. It shows just how random I am. The songs change most of the time based on how many times I turn shuffle on and what kind of mood I'm in. But, just looking at the songs I've been listening to the most for the past week or so makes me laugh. Here it is:

1. Star Locket Melody (From Sailor Moon, kinda sounds like a music box)
2. Prelude 12/21 by AFI
3. Lollipop (Squeak E. Clean & Desert Eagles remix) by the Chordettes
4. Rescue Rangers TV theme song
5. Sex and Candy by Marcy Playground
6. Dancing Cheek to Cheek by Frank Sinatra
7. Forever by Chris Brown (even though I hate him, it's a good song)
8. Not Myself Tonight by Christina Aguilera
9. Her Eyes by Pat Monahan
10. Symphony No. 6 - 1st Movement by Beethoven
11. Nutcracker Suite - Valse Fleurs by Tchaikovsky
12. The Flame by Cheap Trick
13. Danke Schoen by Ella Fitzgerald
14. Minuet of the Forest (Orchestrated Remix) by Koji Kondo
15. Shadow Temple theme by Koji Kondo
16. Hotel Room Service by Pitbull
17. Love Story by The Scene Aesthetic
18. Get Low by Flow Rita ft. Tpain
19. All the Young Dudes by Mott the Hoople
20. The Power of Love (LunaRock) by Jennifer Love Hewitt
21. Bang On by The Breeders
22. Dream Police by Cheap Trick
23. Faithfully by Journey
24. Time is Running Out by Muse
25. Flavor of the Week by American Hi-Fi (random)

Adorable!

How much do you love these?

They are Uggs, Jolina Perf flats, and they have sheep skin inside! So adorable. I want them! They come in two other colors but I like the black the best cause you can wear it with anything.

Haha. This is what I do all day. I look at stuff I can't afford. Sad face.

Things that make me... ME!

I decided to take a post from my sisters blog (love ya!) and list some things that make me who I am. I didn't have to think too hard about this, but I hope you love it just the same. It's only five things, and I'm sure I can think of more but I just don't feel like it right now. Enjoy :)

1. DVD's
Yes, DVD's. I love movies after all. LOVE them. I think if I were a millionaire all my money would go to buying movies every time I'd go shopping. I would have hundreds of them. And I'd watch them all too. I love making movies and I love watching movies. I love watching all the extras and special features. I love watching the credits. I love it all.

2. My iPod
I know a lot of people probably say this one, but it's true. I listen to mine constantly. It's right by my bed at night and it's right in my purse all day when I leave the house. AND you never know what I might be listening to. Whether it's Goo Goo Dolls, Bach, TV show theme songs, or Mika, I have a song for every moment of my life. And my list of songs is ever growing.

3. Disney!
Okay, if you know me at all you know that I love Disney a lot. Like... A LOT. I love the movies! I love going to Disney World, and I'm sure anyone that knows me can tell you how sick and tired they are of hearing about me working there. My favorite movie of all time is The Little Mermaid! Not just Disney movie... of ALL time! And it's very quotable. Funny, sad, scary, everything. So don't make fun of me for it. Love me for it.

4. Friendship
Seems a little silly, but let me explain. Telling someone you are like a member of the family may sound nice for some people. But take it from me, even members of a family can break your heart. There are some of mine that I don't speak to, and I never plan on it. But for people that know me well, they know that I keep my friends close to my heart. In fact, the highest compliment I can pay anyone is that they are a close friend of mine. I tell my own parents that. It's just something I don't throw out there unless I love you that much. So If I were to ever tell you that you are one of my best friends, then you should be flattered. I only have a few close friends in my life and if I want you to be one of them it means I love ya!

5, Art!
I love doing anything art related and crafty. I love to draw and sketch. I'm currently drawing the HP Quidditch field for my cousin, just cause he asked me to. I try to paint sometimes but I'm not a good free hand painter. I'm better at drawing. I love scrap-booking. I love to make collages out of stuff I find in magazines. I like to color, haha. I even have one of those dorky art student tackle boxes of supplies, because it's adorable and covered with Disney stickers. I love making movies and films. (see my youtube channel, if you know me.)

SSSSQQQQQUUUUEEEEE!!!!!!

For those that don't know..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FZfAOty8jA

Purses I wish I had!

I've been looking at purses a lot lately and I've seen some that I truly wish I had. I like big purses cause I carry tons of stuff around. I love Coach and Betsey Johnson, but I have seen some by other designers that I would love to have.

1. "Lila" - Marc by Marc Jacobs

2. Pepper Poppy Chan - Coach

3. Poppy Graphic Blossom Glam Tote

I think that's about it. I haven't seen to many but these are all from Spring/Summer collections. I'm sure I'll find more things I love in Fall. :)
